Instagram Android Release is Imminent

While most photography websites that I seem to come across rehash the article by Mashable or by the Huffington post, Nuwomb.com is looking to think about what Instagram for Android might actually mean to the Instagram community.  I would actually love to explore this more with people that want to go beyond the cheering.  I’d like to reiterate that I don’t think having Instagram as an Android app will harm the community or the app in any way, shape, or form.  I think there will simply be shifts and usage changes by everyone and I wonder if anyone else can see this of if I’m just crazy.

It’s clear that we’re shooting more and more photography on our mobile phones and there becomes a point when you can’t share everything instantly. This is much like your normal digital photography work and shots.  Suddenly you’ve got an archive. What makes it any different than sharing your archive of point and shoot or DSLR images on Instagram? In all reality there should be none but since Instagram is currently iPhone only, the mentality and aura around the app is that you share iPhone only images.

Instagram and Instagratificationl

I’m STILL amazed by Instagram. I don’t need likes and I don’t need comments but I do need to simply put my Photography out into the universe. My Instagratification comes from pressing the publish button to share within Instagram.

If I based my gratification on instagram around likes, I’d have left long the iPhone app ( soon to be instagram android app too ).

Today, feeling really good, I needed to get out for a walk. There isn’t much in my area so I opted to really test myself. I stumbled into this great scene for you!

I had to get myself away from the 27″ monitor and stare into the sun.
